Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our representative will greet you and provide a seamless transfer to your hotel. The hotel offers all the essentials for a comfortable stay, including cozy rooms, internet access, hot water, a swimming pool, and attentive staff.

In the evening, you’ll attend an orientation session with our tour coordinators to ensure you’re well-prepared for your Mount Meru trek.

Private tour packages include shared airport transfers for your group. Additional individual transfers will incur extra charges. To avoid extra costs, we recommend coordinating your group’s arrival and departure times.

Day 2: From Momella gate to Mariakamba hut

In the morning, you will depart for Arusha National Park and proceed directly to the trailhead at Momella Gate, with the drive taking approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

Upon arrival, your guides will handle the entry permit process, and you will begin your trek to Miriakamba Hut. Along the way, expect to see a variety of wildlife, including warthogs, zebras, monkeys, antelopes, and possibly elephants, making for an exciting start to the journey.

Upon reaching Miriakamba Hut, a hot lunch will be served. Afterward, you can rest or explore the surrounding area before the next stage of the trek.

Day 3: From Mariakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

Upon arrival at Saddle Hut, those feeling energetic can opt for a short ascent to Little Meru Peak (3,820m), which helps with acclimatization and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.

A hot lunch will be served at the camp, followed by time to rest before dinner, prepared by our team at the hut.

Day 4: From Saddle Hut to Summit to Mariakamba Hut

At midnight, the ascent to Mount Meru’s summit begins. This is a challenging and strenuous trek, with steep sections leading to Rhino Point and Cobra Point, requiring caution and careful footing.

By sunrise, the group will reach Socialist Peak (4,566m), where breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views and a spectacular sunrise over Kilimanjaro await—an unforgettable reward for your effort.

After spending time at the summit, the descent begins, leading back to Miriakamba Hut, where a hot lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay will provide much-needed rest.

Day 5: From Mariakamba Hut to Momella Gate
